Warranty

Warranty Policy

At FishTale Jewellery, we take pride in creating beautiful, high-quality jewellery designed for everyday wear. Our pieces are made using either premium stainless steel or 925 sterling silver, with selected styles finished in 18k gold or rose gold plating.

We offer two main types of jewellery:

  • Waterproof stainless steel jewellery, designed for shower, pool, ocean, sweat, and everyday wear
  • Water-resistant sterling silver jewellery, designed for everyday wear but requiring more gentle care to maintain its shine and finish

While our jewellery is made to shine and last, it is important to note that plated jewellery is not solid gold. Over time, plating may naturally wear depending on use, care, skin type, and exposure to chemicals, perfumes, chlorine, salt water, sweat, or abrasive surfaces.

Sterling silver may also naturally oxidise or darken over time. This is a normal characteristic of 925 silver and is considered normal wear and tear, not a manufacturing fault. In most cases, oxidised sterling silver can be refreshed using a soft sterling silver polishing cloth and proper care.

With the right care, you can enjoy the beauty and brilliance of your FishTale jewellery for longer.

Quality Assurance

We take every step to ensure our jewellery meets high-quality standards. Each piece is carefully checked by our manufacturer, reviewed by our office team, and inspected by our dispatch team before it is sent.
While we strive for perfection, rare manufacturing faults may occasionally occur.

Warranty Coverage

All jewellery purchased from our online store comes with a 3-month warranty from the date of purchase.

This warranty covers manufacturing faults and defects only.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage
  • General wear and tear
  • Scratches, dents, or surface marks
  • Fading caused by incorrect care or chemical exposure
  • Natural oxidation or tarnishing of sterling silver
  • Damage from perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, chlorine, salt water, sweat, cleaning products, or harsh chemicals
  • Damage caused by pulling, bending, dropping, or improper storage
  • Wear to the plating over time, as plated jewellery is not solid gold

To maintain your warranty, jewellery must be worn, cleaned, and stored according to our Jewellery Care Guide. Failure to follow the care instructions may void the warranty.

Stainless Steel Jewellery Warranty Notes

Our stainless steel jewellery is made from premium stainless steel, known for its strength, durability, and resistance to water, tarnishing, and everyday wear.

Our stainless steel pieces are suitable for shower, pool, ocean, sweat, and daily wear. However, to maintain their shine for longer, we still recommend rinsing with fresh water after exposure to salt water, chlorine, or sweat, and drying with a soft cloth.

5-Year Tarnish Replacement Guarantee - Stainless Steel Jewellery Only

Our 5-year tarnish replacement guarantee applies only to our stainless steel jewellery.
If your stainless steel jewellery tarnishes under normal everyday use within 5 years of purchase, we will offer a free replacement of the same item, subject to availability.

Please note that tarnish and fading are not the same. Tarnish refers to darkening, discolouration, or corrosion of the metal surface. Fading refers to the gradual wearing or lightening of the 18k gold or rose gold plating over time. Because plated jewellery is not solid gold, some fading or wear to the plating may naturally occur with regular use, especially with friction, perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, chlorine, salt water, sweat, or harsh chemicals.

This 5-year tarnish guarantee does not apply to sterling silver jewellery, as sterling silver can naturally oxidise or darken over time due to normal wear, moisture, air exposure, skin oils, and contact with chemicals.

The 5-year tarnish guarantee does not cover:

  • Sterling silver jewellery
  • Natural oxidation or tarnishing of sterling silver
  • Fading, wearing, or lightening of 18k gold or rose gold plating
  • Scratches, dents, or surface marks
  • Accidental damage
  • Lost or stolen jewellery
  • Damage caused by perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, chlorine, harsh chemicals, salt water, sweat, or abrasive surfaces
  • Damage caused by incorrect care, bending, pulling, or improper storage
  • General wear and tear that is not tarnishing

Replacement is subject to review and approval by our team. Proof of purchase and clear photos may be required.

Sterling Silver Jewellery Warranty Notes

Our sterling silver jewellery is made from genuine 925 sterling silver and is water resistant for light everyday exposure.

Sterling silver is more delicate than stainless steel and should be cared for more gently. We recommend avoiding ocean water, chlorine, perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, heavy sweating, and harsh chemicals.

Sterling silver can naturally oxidise, tarnish, or darken over time due to normal wear, skin oils, moisture, air exposure, and contact with chemicals. This is a normal characteristic of 925 silver and is not considered a manufacturing fault.

If oxidation occurs, it can usually be improved by gently cleaning the piece with a soft sterling silver polishing cloth.

The 5-year tarnish replacement guarantee does not apply to sterling silver jewellery.
